Imported Video Is Choppy

Stephen10

Question

When I import the video it drops frames and the overplay back is very choppy. Nothing wrong with the VCR or the hookup to the G5. I think I'm all compatible. I'm not particularly good with computers and my son gave me his old computer to transfer old VHS tapes to DVD. He told me it was compatible.

That's two. So it meets the system requirements. I don't know why the capture is choppy. Make sure you don't have anything else open that could be using system resources or is doing much reading or writing to the hard drive such as a backup application.

Thanks for helping me with this.

The system requirements are a dual-processor G5 or an Intel Mac. If your G5 doesn't have dual processors (most don't) then it can't keep up which is causing the dropped frames.

The user manual says PowerPC G5 Dual Core Processor. Is that one processor or two?
