How Do I Burn A 15Gb Tivo File To Dvd?

rvmeush

Question

I have a 15Gb tivo file that I transferred from my TivoHD. How do I go about getting this onto a single side DVD using Toast? If I try to drag the file onto the Toast video window I get an endless spinning disc from my Mac - so obviously Toast doesn't seem to be able to handle this large of a file. I can drag tivo files that are about 1-2Gb onto the Toast window and they seem to be handles okay. Thanks.

Which version of Toast are you using and which Mac? Toast should be able to recognize your TiVo transfer regardless of its size. Are you using the TiVo setting in the Toast Media Browser to access the transfer? Does it play in Toast Video Player? Presuming it will appear in the Toast Video window (with DVD video selected as the format), the process is to set up the menu the way you want and choose either Save as Disc Image or click the burn button. I recommend choosing Save as Disc Image because the encoding will take a long time. When the disc image is done burn that to DVD using the Image File setting in the Toast Copy window.
