Reinstall Issues

hnarumi

Question

I have windows XP. I uninstalled Easy DVD Copy 4 because it wasn't working properly. I have tried to reinstall the program but it always gets an error halfway through. The error says.. You must install Roxio Easy Media Creator 10 before installing the content. I tried doing a custom install and made sure this was selected. It didn't work. I tried doing it without it being selected and this didn't work either. Help!! Thanks

I got a couple words backwards there. It says...You must install EMC 10 content before installing

It looks as if you may have run into this problem because you didn't completely uninstall the program before you tried to reinstall it.

Easy DVD Copy 4 is a sub-set of the Easy Media Creator 10 suite of programs, so you'll find other threads about this "must install Content" error up in the Easy Media Creator 10 forums here.

Your best "fix" may well come down to a 'clean install' where you give the system a thorough cleanout prior to reinstalling. Here's the procedure for EMC 10 in XP. I'd suggest you print it out and go through it carefully sticking as close as you can to the procedure - and given that your program will be a little different from EMC 10 in some places.

After readin what you said about a "clean install" I went into add & remove programs and checked for anything roxio. There was something there so I removed it. I know it wasn't there before because I did a complete uninstall and always double check the add & remove programs list before I call it good. After I did the uninstall, I tried running the install cd again and it worked perfectly fine! Thanks!
