julieworkman26

Question

I am trying to install the SP2 fix but everytime that I go to that page it is not there. The page is blank except for the header and footer. Can anyone please help. I cannot get the capture now button to work due to the "Signal Protected". This SP2 is supposed to fix my problem.

Thanks.

Your right...its gone, I will pass this on to Roxio. I will post back on here when I hear anything.

It could just be a temp hiccup, try later on.

Hi Julie -

I am VERY sorry it has taken so long to get back to you. Indeed the Guru's did contact me about your problem and it got buried among piles of emails. :(

We took down the update for Easy VHS to DVD because it only covered one version of the software. We have more than one version out there mostly because of the Windows 7 release. There version we had up on the Updates page was being mistakenly downloaded by people with the wrong versions and creating more problems. It would have also been difficult to maintain both versions of updates on the site because it would required customers reading carefully their proper version number, looking it up, comparing it to the site, etc etc.

So we decided to make life simpler for our Easy VHS to DVD customers. You can get the latest updates by going to Help > Check for Updates. This will ensure you get the latest and correct updates for your software, including Service Pack 2.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Jon

That would depend on what version you have?

There are three different versions, see pinned post at the top of Easy VHS to DVD Forum..

it says that there are no updates avaiable.

Then there are no updates for your version.

Roxio just updated their Support Site, and the method you used is the correct way of checking for updates.

I have the same version as Julie, 1.1.124;4.50.13a, and cannot find any resolution for the "signal protected" error when I try capturing my old Hi8 tapes. Jim_Hardin suggested in another thread to another user who has XP (as I do) to try using Windows Movie Maker to capture the video through the roxio USB device. It captures the video PERFECTLY. Therefore, I'm extremely disappointed in the roxio software as I ended up paying $60 and only being able to use the USB capture device, but I'm happy that it was not all a waste and I can still get my old movies into a digital format.

Thanks to everyone who has offered helpful solutions on this forum! I bought this software over a year ago but didn't get time to even start this project (we moved to Japan) until today. I probably would have completely wasted my money if not for the advice I found here.

Thank you!

So did you update as Jon suggested in his post to Julie?

How do I get this SP2 Update if I can't even get the program to open??? Roxio Creator has encountered a problem it will now close...I can't even open the program. I've installed and uninstalled so many times and it still won't allow me access to the program. I've done the clean uninstall, etc...why won't this program open????
