Videowave Production Edit

dog lover

Question

I have created a production in Videowave. The production consists of a video captured from a VHS tape. Several old videos had been combined onto the VHS tape. Some sections are overexposed, some underexposed. I would like to use manual color correction to improve each section of old video individually. Can I do this by setting markers at the end of each video clip? Is this the appropriaate way to proceed? If I just select manual or auto color correction, it seems to affect the entire video; not the individual sections.

I am using Roxio easy VHS to DVD version # 1.2.198 SP2 5.0.0.0 with windows xp operating system.

Good news is that it is pretty easy!

You want to Split the Timeline at the beginning and end of an effected area. Then click the area to make sure it is selected. At that point any changes you make will only apply to that isolated portion of the clip.

Keep in mind if "SAVE" you are saving a VideoWave Project (dmsm) file. No changes will take place in your captured file and you must use the VW Project file in MyDVD to have the changes applied.

An alternate to that is to Export File from VW thus creating a new file with the corrections applied to it.

Markers do very little... More like a good idea that was never carried through ;)

Jim,

Thank you for the suggestion of "splitting" my captured video tape. I found it a little confusing at first but it looks like that method will work.
