Unable To Burn Discs To External Pioneer Drive

raul415

Question

I am using Roxio 2010 Pro with the most recent updates running on a PC with Win 7. My problem is when I try to burn discs on my external pioneer dvr 112 (which plays discs just fine) I get coasters and a message that says it's a SCSI error. I have updated the drive to the latest available. The internal burner works just great.

HELP!

You'll find that trying to burn to an external drive requires USB 2 - it won't work with UISB 1.1 (the data transfer rate is too low)

To find out what you have, open device manager in control panel and look at the entry for USB controllers. If it says 'Enhanced' or USB2, then that's what you have. If it says 'Standard' or USB 1/1.1, then you won't be able to burn.

If you don't have a USB 2 controller, you can pick up a PCI card with four USB 2 ports fairly cheaply and plug that into an empty slot in your computer
