Mov. Fils

Marc G.

Question

Bought a new camcorder. Kodak "play sport". I do not want to use the kodak software to edit video but rather import to my 2010 Creator. The files from my new camcorder are in MOV and I can import but have NO AUDIO.

Is the 2010 Creator not compatible to receive audio or am I missing sonething?

Will return camcorder if I can't import and edit.

Thank you in advance for any thoughts and advise.

I have the same problem! I have a Kodak Zi8. I bought a new computer with loads of memory and thought that would help. I can make the DVD fine, titles chapters etc. but NO SOUND. Any other videos that I had in AVI or WMV have sound but not MOV. As you said, they have sound on the computer with the Quick Time player but not in Roxio 10. I tried "exporting from Video wave as mpg"2 as was suggested in my previous topic (by video guru I think). That didn't work either. I will try the "any video converter" since that seemed to work for you.

Thanks to all. Phyllis

You will have to take some 10 second shots and post the files somewhere we can grab one and look at it…

Do they play in QT with Audio?

If I connect camera to my pc and upload, all MOV files play fine with audio. Once imported to 2010 Creator, I lose the audio.

Thanks

The first thing to try is to change the extension of one of those MOV files to mp4. Try adding that file to Video Wave to see if that will work. If not, change the extension back. Remember to use Windows folder view to change the setting to show known file types. If you don't you will end up renaming the file to (filename).MOV.MP4 and that won't work.

Do you have the standard version of Creator 2010 or the pro version. The pro version has Sound Soap that can convert the mov files so that the audio is converted to one that Video Wave can work with.

There are several free programs that will do the conversion. Try the free "Any Video Converter" to convert the MOV files to mpg2.

There are other ways but this is the quickest (I think).

Digital Guru you are awesome. The converter worked perfect and i now have audio. It's well worth the extra step to work with Roxio and not with the Kodak software.

Thank you so much....
