Question

I keep getting the following message.... can anyone help?

The Drive Reported an Error

Sense Key=MEDIUM ERROR

Sense Code= 0x0c

I'm using TDK DVD-R media.

I'm using the latest version of Toast 10.

I'm working on a MacBook Pro with all the latest updates.

The error means that the drive is not working with those TDK discs when using Toast. You can try choosing Save as Disc Image and then burn the resulting .toast file to disc using the Image File setting in the Copy window. That sometimes works but not always. Try another brand of discs. I suggest Verbatim discs.

You can check user reports for the reliability of burning to those TDK discs by inserting one the the discs and choosing Disc Info in the Recorder menu. Click on the hot link that appears in the info window. That takes you to a site where people submit reports about different disc formulations. TDK used to be a good-quality brand but I believe they stopped manufacturing their own discs and now are more troublesome.

Thanks for the info, I really appreciate it. I'll try a different brand as you suggested, but I need to have the white print fronts on the dvd's so I'll have to shop around and see what other brands sell them. My drive on my MacBook does sound like it's laboring, so I'm going to have that checked as well. Again, thanks for the reply!
