Burn Play Issues

I got roxio pro 2010 today and tried to burn downloaded movie off of my pc but could not get it to play in my dvd player. we burned to disc 1st, then created iso file and repeated the burn process. disc plays well on any pc but will not play on dvd player. what am i doing wrong.

what's the source of the movie and how did you try to burn it? (what app in the suite)

Nobody will have any idea what you did wrong until you tell us what you did, exactly what program did you use to burn the DVD. Just simply burning a file to a DVD does not create a video DVD playable on a DVD player.
