squatch
I have followed the instructions. For some reason when I rename the files it shows jwp but it says it's a text file under document type. The encoding when I saved was ANSI. I'm using XP Pro
squatch
The files I used are the ones I got from this post or the pinned post on an earlier post. I don't see the HP printers in the drop down menu on the print menu under paper type. I do show the files located here (C:\Program Files\Common Files\Roxio Shared\13.0\Label Creator\Page Files). squatch
OK, I used the files that were on your post and it worked. Strange that the other files didn't work, and they were the same ones that I used on the 2010 version. Thank you Mike

Jim_Hardin
I am wondering if you miss-saved the files after editing??? Notice the icons in my screen cap: (I am in Detail View) Are yours all the same for all of the jwp files in your Page File folder? Or do the Icons change for the files you edited ??? Even though I renamed they still show .txt And you were correct, you saved them as a .txt file and that must be changed!!! Rename the files and delete the .txt from the end. They should work then. ggrussell
OR just download the two JWP files that I attached above. That is exactly what I had done.
squatch
I can change the name by backspacing but the extension does not change. I have XP Pro. For some reason even if I use a different extension it does not change the file extension. The name changes but the extension stays the same. Thank you G That looks like its going to work. I don't know why I couldn't change the extension. Thank you Mike

squatch
I would like to thank all who have responded with their suggestions. The pinned discussion does work on my 4 in 1 HP Photosmart Premium C309a printer. I did a very small test and it printed fine. So far I have not had to make any adjustments for realignment. I have not tried a complete CD/DVD label print. The only trouble I had was renaming the files. I could rename the files, but the extension would say .txt on my XP Pro after renaming. My suggestion, if they are not there all ready is to have the HP files there so a person can copy to their computer. Again thank you all for a job well done. Mike S. Using Windows Explorer and the arrow keys, you were able to rename the files and get rid of the extra .txt extension... Is that correct???
squatch
No I was not able to. When I went to windows explorer and rename in Detail mode it does not show the extension. Therefore I was not able to rename the extension. I was able to rename file but not the extension. If there is some trick I would appreciate any comments. I have XP Pro, maybe I have a glitch. If you cannot rename the extension then you have a problem with XP and your system. Do you see the extensions for files or are they hidden? squatch
the extensions are hidden. Under file type it said text file. See my post from 3:51 it has a screen attachment. You gave me an idea. I unchecked hide file extensions. Now I can see the extensions and make changes.

I don't understand why people turn this feature off:unsure: BTW, what does "my post from 3:51" refer to? If you want to reference a post, it is best to use the post #. sknis
Unfortunately those extensions ID are turned off by default. It is a Windows thing; and not a good one!

bimicher
The post 3:51 refers to the time I posted on this thread. It show my screen shot as an attachment There is no post with that time and in any case that time is meaningless since it will be different in every time zone. It shows up as 10:51 for me. gi7omy
That doesn't matter The JWP file type is primarily associated with 'Easy CD Creator Label File' by Sonic Solutions. Sonic Solutions bought out Roxio’s consumer software division on 20 December 2004. Label files are generally found in the Program Files/Roxio/Easy Media Creator 7/Label Creator/Page files folder and are text files you can change (with care and some experimentation); keep backup copies if you try this. squatch
I have 2011 label creator. I have copied the HP files to this location C:\Program Files\Common Files\Roxio Shared\13.0\Label Creator\Page Files and when I try to print I don't see the HP printers. I used the same files that I used in 2010 is that correct or do I need new files.
