Media Capture Problems

SFMI

Question

I just purchased Roxio Easy VHS to DVD and installed AND checked all my drivers.

I am trying to capture live analog video (Infrared Camera) through the Roxio Video Capture USB device.

I can see the video on my screen and i t looks fine... however the capture button is grayed out and the status reads no signal.

Why!?

My options appear to be fine.

I have uninstaled and reinstalled software.

I have even installed it on a different machine just in case it was my computer. Still Nothing.

I have even tried screen recording software to capture what I am seeing on my screen, but even that doesn't work. That area just comes out black.

Help Please. Attached is a screen shot.

Steve

To prove that the Roxio is working ok, try using a diferent input... a DVD player or Camcorder/VCR, and see if that works.

By chance are you running on Windows 7? If so, this solved it for me:

•Go to Device Manager and click on IEEE 1394 Bus host controllers

•Click on the device listed underneath this heading. In my case it was NEC 1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller

•Right click this device and select 'update driver software' from the shortcut menu

•Then select the option 'browse my computer for driver software'

•Then select the option 'let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer'

•This then gave me three drivers to pick from (make sure the'show compatible hardware' checkbox is ticked

•Select the driver named '1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller (Legacy)'

•Install driver

Hope this solution will work for others. I didn't have this problem with XP or Vista.

Please stop posting solutions which have nothing to do with the users problem and do not apply. The OP is using the USB capture device.
