Error Burning Movie #1

wiry

Question

I have completed my project and have sent it to my dvd and given it a title. When I try to burn to an iso it stops almost immediately and says error burning movie #1. I have burned this project before, then I added some pictures but not at the beginning and I resaved it. Can you help me with what is happening?

Thanks

Actually it says "error encoding Movie #1" and just stops. I'm tring to create an iso file from my dvd. I haven't gotten this message before. Please help

Did you make the first video project in Video Wave? If so, open the first project in Video Wave and then output it (icon at the top) to "mpg2 for DVD, best quality". If it hangs, there is something that the program doesn't like from your edit. Note where it hangs, that should be close to where the problem is. When you get it to encode, then just add that mpg2 file to MyDVD.

I'm sorry ... I don't quite understand. The first videowave project worked fine. Then I added some pics and saved it as a different file name just in case something happened. The second videowave project hangs when I try to burn it. It says error trying to encode movie #1. What is movie number 1? So I think you mean I should open the second video project and output it to mpg2 for DVD best quality, right? When I try to burn it it hangs right away. I get no previews in the preview screen.

Right, project 2. Your project 2 is probably corrupt. Let's forget about burning for now. In Video Wave, output (encode) the project to a "mpg2 for DVD, best quality" video file. Use the output icon above Video Wave's preview screen. Does that work?

Remember that you cannot include ANY DRM protected content like a short video OR a audio file you bought from an on-line store like ITunes. That will hang it quickly. Also if you do not have any DRM protected content, add any music you have as a wave file and NOT an mp3 file. Amazon mp3s will work.

What do you have in that project that is giving you the problem? Images, video, music, narration, special effects, overlays, etc.

Okay ... I was able to save the project 2 video file with no hang-ups or problems. So now I have an mpg2 file for DVD. Do I just burn that or do I import it into MY DVD? And why, I wonder, did it hang in MY DVD? I think I can just burn it as it plays in Windows Media Player ... right? Thanks. Please advise.

Did you save or did you output the file? There is a major difference.

Just add that file and any other to MyDVD as a "Add new movie". Select if you want a menu or not, select HQ rather than fit to disc. Encode to an ISO file (make ISo). Name the ISo and set where you want it. Encode to the ISO. It should be fairly quick because it is already in the format that a DVD uses. Once the encoding is completed, yu can use VLC (free player) to play the ISo file to see if it is what you want. If it is, then just burn the ISO file to the disc. Do not just copy it. I do not remember what the application name is for burning the ISO file to a disc in that older program version.

I output the file. I followed your instructions to the letter and when I tried to burn to an iso, I still got the error but now it has a number : 8004520e Error while encoding movie 1. Please help

If you encoded (output) the videos to an mpg2 for DVD, best quality, then there is no encoding of movie 1. I can't help if you can't follow the directions. Sorry.

Well, I tried it again. I had been trying to overwrite a previous iso file and it wouldn't do it so I renamed it and it worked.

Thanks for your help. I think the error message somehow referred to that previous file. I did follow your directions ... it was another problem. Still can't figure out why the new file wouldn't write to an iso file originally since there wasn't any hangup when I made the mpg2 file. That still doesn't make sense to me. But it's nice to know that there's a workaround. I'm going to save this for the future.
