Auto Start From Computer Or Dvd Player

theplane

Question

Hi I am transfering my old VHS family tapes to DVD using Creator 2010 pro and MyDvd with the USB Video Capture. How do I get the DVD's to autostart on my computer and the DVD player. When I insert the DVD into the DVD player they start OK but when I insert then into the computer they do not start. I can go to the files and get the DVD to start. Also the DVD sound has static in it but if I play the VHS tape into a TV there is no static.

Thanks for your help.

You probably don't want to do that unless you watch a lot of DVDs on your computer and do a lot less of other things. You would need to set Windows to open the software player on your computer (default) and set it to auto-play when a disc is inserted. Remember from that point on every time you put a disc in your computer to do other things (like burn, copy, etc.) the computer is going to open that software and try to play that disc.

As for the static, what brand of disc do you use? Do you hear the static on both the player and on your computer? Do you hear static if you insert a commercial disc in your computer?

Thanks Skins for the quick reply. I think you are correct about setting the default. I think I will just use Media Player or Roxio to play videos.

As for the static or pops I was using a Verbatim R/W disk. I tryed a Fujifilm R/W with the same result. Then I decied to to play the raw video using Media Player. Quess what, It had the static and pops. Using the speaker volumn (bottom right) I could see the pops. I went to the basement and found another old VHS player. When the video was recorded and DVD made NO static or pops.

Thanks again
