Backup Mypc 7.0.5 - Appending On External Hdd

I've just started using Backup MyPC 7.0.5 to backup my laptop onto an external HDD.

 

Everything works fine, except that I cannot set (incremental) backup to append. This is troublesome as one incremental backup will then overwrite the previous - and then the concept of incremental (rather than differential) backups is useless.

 

Is there any way to activate appending (the option is grayed out)?

Just realised that appending may not be neccesary if the program adds a number to the filename of the backup.

Which it doesn't - and therefore incremental backups are useless on HDDs.

 

I hope someone from Roxio will respond to this.
