The version I have came with the Dell Desktop. I cannot burn DATA discs today but could yesterday. Any insight or help would be appreciated. Thanks

There are a couple of Dell OEM versions so we would need to know which one you have???

Start it and click on Help-About. It should be 10.2 or 10.3 DE.

And then we need to know which application within the Suite you are using…

Exactly what the error message state?

The Steps you are taking?

Sounds like the disc is part of a backup program and not a blank disc..

Again what application and correct name of the Roxio product are you using?

Jim Hardin explained that in his post and you ignore it!

Did you try a blank disc? Are you using the Drag 2 disc application? If you are not sure, did you have to format the disc before you started? Are you trying to add data to a disc that already had data on it using that application?

What has changed since yesterday - any porgram updates including those from MicroSoft? What operating system are you using -XP, Vista or Windows 7.

using xp. when i place a blank disc in a dialogue box appears that asks some things like formatting & so on. when i click cancel open the roxio to copy data to a new cd it shows that its copying and then says done like all is normal. when i go to put it back into the pc theres nothing and a prompt says drive is unaccesible. the cd's using are CD-R, but they work fine on another computer.

i also noticed this isn't displayed anywhere in my Device manager if that helps any.

IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers NOT THERE ANYMORE
