Preview Playback In Videowave All Choppy

I'm wondering why my playback panel in Videowave is choppy but when I ultimately burn a disk of what I am previewing, it comes out clean & smooth. The movie is not long...just over 3 minutes but in contains numerous segments that are about 3-4 seconds long. I currently use hardware render & I did try software render but that didn't help. Any suggestions appreciated

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

AMD Athlon 64x2 Dual Core Processor 3800+

1.8 GHz, 2GB RAM

Loads of hard disk space

With that processor and video card, video preview shouldn't be choppy. If you are trying to edit hidef video, that may require a faster processor. Make sure you have the latest drivers for the video from ATI.

Thanks, DG. Good point about the hi-def...I am editing hi-def video so maybe my processor isn't quite beefy enough. I did check my ATI drivers and they are the latest. Do you think more RAM (go to 4GB total) would help?

Probably not. IMHO, editing hidef really needs a faster processor.

I agree. I'll test theory by editing non hi-def and my guess is it will be fine for that. Thanks again for your input.
