0 Beerman
I don't think you have many choices using the 'Burn Data Disc' option but if you use Creator Classic to burn your data, you do have choices.

0 Beerman
After you have added your files and you click on the 'Burn' button, you should see a dialogue box come up with options and choices. You can click on any of the items with a '+' sign to show the options. Speed is listed under 'Burn Options'.

Your original post asked how to control burn speed when making a data DVD; now you are talking about copying a DVD. Perhaps you can give us more information on just what you want to do. There are different applications that do different things and they have different capabilities. We cannot hit a target if you keep moving it ! Perhaps you confused Roxio tech support also (we are not Roxio Tech support; just frequent users of the program). You are welcome. Well I tried it and it worked but I was very disappointed. This has to do with copying and burning a DVD. The only selection that was available was either MAX or 1x. Can you tell me what kind of selection this is. I was expecting a bunch of speeds especially 4x. Whats up with this? Please help.
0 ggrussell
The speeds depend on the firmware of the drive. I have two drives and as you can see with one I get more and with one I get only two. It is kind of odd because with both drives I can choose different speeds when burning with Music Disc Creator or MyDVD.

As discussed above, it is the firmware from your burner. Have you updated the firmware? What brand discs are you using? What is their burn spec? BTW, why do you want to control the burn speed; perhaps you have an entirely different problem. Edited September 5, 2010 by sknis

Have you tried my suggestions above, and it still won't allow burn speeds? Your TDK is probably not TDK download DVD Identifier, a small free program that Identifies the media ID and disc maker.. http://dvd.identifie...te/download.php

0 sknis
I guess that TDK is now using Ritek as a supplier. Cross them off the list of good suppliers. Edited September 5, 2010 by sknis

Can you get that following my suggestions above? I would buy Verbatim disc's local Best Buy and the like or JVC Taiyo Yuden, mail order from rima.com or supermediastore.com...
