Gave Up!

Question

I bought Roxio Creator 2010 for $79.99. So far, I have $600 of my time tied up into trying to get it loaded. This has involved Sucker Fleecing (sometimes called Customer Support at other companies) which has had me going around in circles trying the same thing over in different combinations, none of which has gotten me anywhere. You can take your chances if you want, but I would look elsewhere, maybe Nero. I'm sure Roxio works on most computers, but if you're not lucky, you're basically out of luck. Oh, I did, still do, have a copy of Roxio 6 which would just say some trial period had expired. Except it wasn't trial software. No use writing for support, they already say Creator 2009 is a legacy product; I see somebody have to upgrade for nearly the full package price and it's just August 2010. Roxio seems to be just one step up from the "buy our anti-virus software so we might leave your computer alone" people. It's been the closest thing I've ever had to a virus - And I had to pay for it. Well, good luck, I'm going to get something else!

One last thing to try.

1) Remove the program using Revo Uninstaller in the MODERATE Mode (link).

2) Prepare your computer like this.

3) reinstall double checking that your anti-virus is OFF; not just paused.

This has worked for a lot of people. Please come back and let us know if it worked for you.

I have just spent %500 of my time deleting your extra posts and providing this expert answer. Consider you even with Roxio.:lol:

Just as a follow on (and not related) - it was EMC 9 (not ECD6) that had the 'trial version' problem

The cause - people using registry cleaners in an over-enthusiastic manner. The program worked fine - the registry cleaners did the damage
