So... my newish compaq (hp mini 110) comes with Roxio Backontrack. The manual for the netbook states that the only way to create a backup of windows (to be used as reinstallation and such in the future) is by using this program. It works brilliantly for Disaster Recovery. But when it comes to periodic restore points it is awful. Backontrack tends to keep saving restore points even though I have the program set to delete older ones every 31days. None have been deleted. The disc cleanup system tool does have an option to delete them but then the files are recreated by backontrack as soon as disc cleanup is finished. In the end the backups were using 70GB's of my hard drive. I can't even delete them manually (says they are in use). So now I have decided to uninstall Backontrack until this is fixed (the restores are deleted when I uninstalled Backontrack).
Is this an issue with everyone who uses this program and Windows XP? Does it do this on Vista and Windows 7?
