Roxio Creator 2011 Installation Error "system Not Modified"

Hi

I have a problem installing Creator 2011,it stop's during install and i get a note telling that the "system is not modified".

I have tried everything and nothing works.

 

My system

Operating System (including service packs):Windows 7 64bit (6.1,build 7600)

* Make: I put all pieces together myself(done more than 20 pc,so no problem there)

* Model: asus p6t

* Video card :asus engtx 470

* Processor speed: intel i7920 2.7ghz

* RAM: 6gb Kingston HyperX KHX12800D3K2/4G

* Free hard drive space: 35gb (tried to install on my other partitions but no luck)

* I last did a Windows/Macintosh update on: yesterday (KB973685)

 

searching through the forums i have found many solutions,but none seem's to help

i have removed all traces form previous install's including regedit.

stopped all applications in msconfig before installing,removed firewall and ofcourse made sure that my system is up to date.

it seems that the installation stops just after Microsoft Net.framework 3.51 ?

In the meantime you can run the commandline install to skip that component that is causing the rollback

I have same issue. Hours spent trying to install and reinstall Creator 2011 Pro. Have taken all actions to remove prior traces, cleaned registry, turned-off all start up apps disabled Norton Internet Security, updated all drivers, etc. Installer starts rolling back everything. The only possibly unique thing I have on my computer is my primary User and all user files are on a second hard drive (P:\Users\etc.) and I found this error in the log file:

No, P: is a second hard drive on the computer. Has P:\Users\JStark\Documents etc. folders. The are all officially moved via Windows 7 and work fine with all other software including Creator 2010 Pro.

I resolved the issue by manually adding permission for Everyone group to the Pictures, Music, Documents, and Videos User folders.

 

Any users that moved their User folders to a second hard drive using the Windows 7 Move folders routine will not be able to install Creator 2011 because apparently Windows 7 does not correctly move permissions for Everyone or System or Administrators to these folders. Users have to manually add permissions for Everyone for Pictures (I also added for Videos, Documents, and Music just to be sure) in order for the install to work correctly. This was not required for Creator 2010 so this will be a new issue for Creator 2011.

P.S., make sure you have the User folder setup on a 2nd hard drive, different from the one Windows 7 is set up on. To do this you have to select each of the User folders (Pictures, Documents, etc.) and move them to 2nd hard drive location.
