Disc Finalize

Hi all,

 

Reinstalled win 7 and then roxio. Printing is now working but I have problems finilising a disk from the main menu. Please help. I copy files to disk and wish to finilise disc but the program seems to hang. I see the disc parms under the drive box sayin apendable +r disk. When I click the green button it never closes the disc and program seems to hang. I have installed all patches.

What program did you burn the data disc in, be specific? What choices do you have set in options?

 

I doubt it's a operating system problem or a software if it happened in W-7 and XP.

 

 

DG the message is clear why do you come with questions all the time. Do you not understand english. Finilise will not work in XP or win 7 it will not work. What is the problem thats all I want to know and a answer to the problem. Thank you. On my laptop or on my desktop machine.

Your using Creator 2010? Now explain in what application your trying to finalize a disc?

In post #3 you say you stopped the process, was that the finalize process or the copy process? In either case you most likely you corrupted the disc when you stopped the process. Finalize works just fine in XP, Vista or W7.

 

With you attitude though you might nhot get much help. We are just users here not Roxio support. Not answering questions and then insulting people is a quick way to become ignored.

Try uninstalling, then choose the repair option...

With Roxio, no 'Plus' DVD can ever be 'finalized'.

 

It has been this way for several versions over many years and does not prove to be a problem!

 

I think the real question is, why do you think you need to do this?

 

mmmmmm I usally by -r discs but will check it out. Thanks for reply. Hope you guys have a great christmas and may santa bring you lots of goodies. Santa has been fired here by us so maybee we dont get any goodies here. (heh heh)

FYI: in some of my testing I even took a DVD+R that was finalized in my DVD Recorder as a DVD Movie. With Burn Data Disc as well as Creator Classic I was able import the files, add data files and write it out again… good way to make an Enhanced DVD

 

You never explained WHY you need to do this???

 

With DVD Movies, ‘plus’ media is always playable! If your getting errors trying to play one, finalizing is not the problem.

 

For Data, it is kind of unnerving that a disc cannot be closed… I am going to do some more checking into this…

All works fine and Ill test it in the coming days. BUT finilise still wont work. I have burnt a CD with data on it and tried to finilise it and it just will not work. When I press the green button it will go dark and the disk spins down and then nothing happens. You cannot end it and it will not work. It crashes.

 

Any help will be appreciated. BTW it on a clean install of windows XP

From the main menu top left dropdown tools then finilise. I must admit I stopped the process and tried to copy the disc to the HD. This in itself took a very looooong time. Maybee I should give more time for the disk to find all the files before it will do the job. Any suggestions

I apologise for the insult. Did not mean to do it. Ihave tried several discs in my laptop and desktop and they will not finilise. Could it be the discs?
