roxiostolemymoney Posted September 4, 2010 Report Share Posted September 4, 2010 I was sitting in the chemo infusion room, wanting to watch a movie on my computer because the infusion takes 2 1/2 hours. But the computer I was using didn't have a DVD program. So I went on line to find one, and downloaded the cheapest after charging it to my debit card. After downloading, the program refused to run without a code... and would not accept the only code I was given. I kept being directed back to a place where they wanted even more money to get the program to work. So, I cancelled the order, based on the fact that I had received nothing. Days later, when I got an overdraft notice from my credit union, I discovered Roxio had taken the money from my account anyway. I requested a refund... and this isn't easy, as they don't recognize my password-- and when I click on "forgot password" (I didn't forget it-- always use the same one for these things) they say they are emailing me a new one, but I receive nothing via email. So... there is no phone number to call... there is no way to contact these people by email... I got nothing at all and they charged me for that. All I can do is complain in this space and tell everyone I know to avoid Roxio products... lesson learned. But I will go ahead with a suit in small claims court... yeah, I know it will cost me more to file than I lost (isn't that part of the scam?), but I can ask for court costs and perhaps I will get a judge who has dealt with internet scams, and I'll get my money back, plus court costs. Your replies are probably in your spam folder. You never said what program you downloaded. There is no place where they would have asked for more money. Please put links in your reply so we can see what you are looking at. Here is the information on how to get to Roxio sales support; unfortunately it is Saturday and there is a Holiday on Monday. I know how stressful it is sitting there; I hope you had a loved one there to keep you company. Perhaps some of the confusion is being caused by the therapy. We will try to help as much as we can if you provide more information. Why didn't you come here for help to begin with? You have found the site now.
