2011 Pro And Blu-Ray Plug-In

Daybreak

Question

Roxio Creator Pro 2011

Your web site and other areas with information are severely lacking. What is the deal with Blu-Ray. Why in the hell is the plug-in needed to be purchased with the pro version? What plug-in is needed. Yes, for authoring and playback. You store has no idea, your staff has no idea.

I agree that the info on the plug-in needs a bit more detail..

I need to ask a question.. It is a long story but temporarily, I have been elected to take the hi-def footage captured via video cam and turn this into blu-ray disks for an organization I am active with. I assume that the plug-in will allow the creation of this media? The few sentences in the description says it does. I assume you use videowave and / or my dvd and the plug-in just handles the disk access?

I also need to copy some of the previously created media. The source files are not available at the moment, only the created media. There is about 3 weeks worth of events that have been created but multiple copies were not made to distribute to the groups members.

Before I purchase the plug-in for my license of creator 2011, will it allow me to create & burn blu-ray and will it allow the reproduction of previously created media?

Anyone have this plug-in and can discribe it in a bit more detail?

Edit: I just saw there are two plug-ins.. One for playback & one for burning? Is this right.. Does one include the other?

What product do you have C2011 Pro or C2011?

Understand there are two plugins (author and edit) & (playback). One comes with C2011Pro (author and edit), none come with C2011...

There are a few other requirements too! ;)

Howdy,

Maybe with some better information with what I was asking about. Gee, the comparison page, how nice :P , how about someone at roxio smart enough to put the plug-in information on how to BUY it. I guess they do not want you to purchase it from them over the website store. I guess I have to call to buy it.

Thanks for your post..

To answer your question, I have c2011, not c2011 pro.

Is it possible to duplicate or copy existing blu-ray media with 2011 (not pro) and the writing plug-in?

Yes (author edit), Roxio has a 30 day like it or return it policy. Remember plugins are version specific, C2010 plugins don't work in C2011, I doubt C2011's will work in future versions..

You should know that we are all just users like yourself, so your ranting will go unheeded… :o

If you have a BD Burner and nothing came with it to WATCH a BD with, you were gypped

So, and I am guessing, Roxio decided not to add extra expense to each and every box going out the door when only a very, very few will ever use it…

I know I would be ranting if the BD Playback was included and installed on my PC when I didnt even have a BD Player!!!

But you have BD and when you get going, dont hesitate to pop in with questions or share some tips with us… But leave the chip at the door, we didnt do it ;)

BTW: I purchased the BD Playback with 2010 and it doesn't work with 2011 :( So since I am also dabbling 3D now, so I will be buying the 2011 BD Playback Plug-in...

Here's something interesting. My HP computer had another program called HP MediaSmart Player, and it played the BluRay DVD that I created using Roxio Creator 2011 MyDVD just fine.

Why doesn't Roxio's Cineplayer find the codec that this other player is using?
