Double Clicking Doesn't Open Program

DeeJay1946

Question

Hi,

I just purchased Easy VHS to DVD and have installed the program. I have Windows XP. When I double click the icon on the desktop, nothing happens except I get the red box that says Roxio. Then it goes away. I have tried opening from "programs" and the same thing happens. I uninstalled and installed a second time, with the same results. Can you help?

Thanks

Diane

OK this was another bad link. dutran.com/roxio/removeuninstallkeysc2010.zip

Another bad link. I went back to Best Buy and exchanged it. Figured it was just a bad disk. Installed the new program and now I get the message that the certificate file is corrupted or missing. I have reinstalled and repaired to no avail. So I have just now sent an email to support. What are the odds of getting 2 bad CDs in a row? Thanks for all your help so far. I sure hate to go back to that store again. Hope I can solve this problem here at home. Diane

I have no problem with the links, perhaps your browser and it's settings?

I don't think you have a bad disc. I think you need to clean things up before trying a reinstall, follow the steps in this post..

This advice finally fixed it. The first installation hadn't been totally removed. Once I got all the pieces of it gone, and reinstalled, everything was fine. Thanks so much for all the help.

I've got exactly the same problem.

XP Pro. SP3

Got a retail version bought form Amazon for Vista/ 7 / XP.

Went through all the stuff from the link, tried a repair, uninstalled Roxio, NET, run the registry cleaner etc.

Copied the CD to the hard drive and re-installed.

Guess what?

Double click and I get the Roxio logo then nothing else.

So far I've spent 6 hours today trying to get this program to run, not impressed.

Anyone any other ideas before I send the package back?

Go to add remove programs like your uninstalling the program, when the installer opens choose the repair option..

Well, at add and remove programs the only choice was to uninstall, so I did. Then reinstalled, and I have the same result. Just a red Roxio box for a few seconds, then nothing. Any other ideas? This is frustrating.

What version # do you have?

Computer specs please?

I don't know how to find out what version I have. It's Windows version. I have a TSID number on my envelope, and a P/N number. As far as the computer, I am running Windows XP SP 3, with AMD processor, 2.2 Ghz, and 1.87 RAM.

Thanks for your assistance.

The program doesn't open, so I cannot look at what version it is. All I get is a red box that says Roxio for a few seconds, then it disappears.

Did you buy a boxed version or a download?

When?

If you bought a boxed version does it say for Windos 7, Vista, and XP?
