Football Highlight Dvd

Footballfan

Question

I am using Roxio 2010 to put together a highlight DVD of my son football games. I have my production pretty much together with transitions and all. I need help try to spotlight or highlight my son in each with a circle or arrow point him out, is this possible with Roxio 2010 if so can anyone tell me how?

Have you thought about zooming into his play and then out or vice versa. It should work if the camcorder stayed pretty much centered on him. You can use a transparent or semi-transparent overlay but you end up with the same issue if he is not sort of centered. You could just use the overlay to point him out and then rely on people keeping and eye on him without the arrow or circle.

Re: Pan and zoom, these are related to slide shows of images but the same holds true for video also. Here is how to make a custom overlay. (Thanks to karri).

Sknis thhanks for the reply. Yes I have thought about the pan and zoom effect but I wasn't happy with how it looks blurry once it zoom in. I also tried to make a custom overlay but I'm doing something wrong because I can't get my final product to end up as just a circle overlay, it covers the entire frame when I add it on. I will go back and play with it some more but so far its not working.

Custom overlay - png type file and after you add it, you have to adjust the transparency.

Pan and zoom in preview will look "blurry" unless you are really zooming in close, it will look a lot better in the final product. Do a short project with pan and zoom, encode it to mpg2 and create an ISo file with Create DVD. Watch the ISO file with VLC (free player).

Sknis thanks again for the reply. I managed to create a overlay its a square instead of a circle I will work on trying to form a circle later, but for now the square will have to do again thanks.
