No Video Signal With Rca Only Vcr

Romanticphil

Question

Hello,

I have just purchased the Easy VHS to DVD today and have followed every step and had installed everything properly. When I pressed play on my VCR, the screen shown up for about 1 to 2 sec then I will get the "No Video Signal". I have read through the forum and I noticed that alot of this no video signal problem are related to SCART cable. But my VCR is a very simple one with RCA only. Furthermore, I have checked that my Easy VHS to DVD has the latest version which doesn't required any update. I'm currently using in on Window 7.

I had tried at least 3 different RCA yellow, red and white cables but without luck. Those cables all worked fine when connected to the TV. Like I said, I do have Video signal every single time when I pressed play on my VCR. But however, the video will only shown up for no more than 2 seconds, then it will switched to the "no video signal" screen.

Please kindly help as soon as possible because I have just paid 100 Canadian dollars for it today and I do not want to purchase another set.

Phil,

Just something you might check. What type of socket is your USB device plugged into?

The device needs a stiff power supply [see how warm it gets] and I've found that often the USB sockets at the back of your computer and directly connected to the motherboard are the only ones which can reliably supply the power. Sockets on the front of the computer connected by thin flying leads, or sockets connected to a hub where something else is also drawing current, often can't supply enough current and the device drops out.

There might be another cause in your case, but this one is always worth checking.

Regards,

Brendon

Specs look pretty good... How about trying another source for the Capture Device?

Maybe a camcorder or DVD Player?

You did not say what version you have, only that it is up to date. Still like to confirm the Version number ;)

There is a pinned post by cdanteek that outlines the install and has some screen shots of the 2 entries you must have in your Device Manager… Look through that to confirm it installed the device drivers correctly.

Dear Jim,

Many thanks for your reply.

The Build is 201B23A, VHS

Roxio Easy VHS TO DVD(Build 201B23A ENU)

I also checked all the drivers and I have all the exact drivers as per canteek's pinned screenshot.

For your info, I also tried not using the extension USB adapter and plug directly into various USB port on my computer but All failed.

Please help as I do not have a camcorder and my DVD is currently not working so I will not be able to test on those items.

Thank you kindly for your guys help.

Unfortunately, I have just uninstalled the whole thing. And since the package is opened and therefore it is not returnable, I have no choice but to throw the whole Roxio package into the trash.

Such a big disappointment for this Roxio product. After spending 100 Canadian dollars on a plug and play product, I don't really expect I will still need to trouble shoot to do this and do that in able to make it work. It is extremely outrageous for a company to sell a product that requires consumer's further input to make it work.

This is my first Roxio product and it is also my last. Thank you.

It seems a shame that you should throw your money away like that, but I guess we can't compel you to do any work yourself in order to get the software going on your system.

Best wishes in your hunt for software which will install itself and put your VHS tapes to disc without human intervention.
