Can't Re-install Emc 8

I have had some minor problems with EMC 8, so today I tried the update. It made everything worse, so I uninstalled the entire program to get rid of the update. To re-install I turned off all start up programs and installation proceeds until there are only 3 bars left (files are installed and registry is updated). Then I get a pop-up box asking me to insert the CD. Of course the CD is already inserted and re-inserting it just results in another request to insert the CD. All I can do at that point is cancel the installation. Does anyone have an idea of what is blocking the re-installation?

Try this:

 

In the C:\documents and settings\all users\application data directory, delete the Roxio folder (unless you have v7 installed then just delete everything with 8 on the end of it). Reboot and then install.

 

I did this myself for other reasons.

 

The patch has caused me all kinds of problems that won't go away even after I un-installed and re-installed the thing.
