ggrussell
Apparently, there is an issue with Windows 7 64bit and firewire capture. I've had this problem myself and have seen many posts online especially with the Canon HDV minitape series camcorders (HV20, 30 or 40). For those of you with an HP laptop running Windows 7 64bit, there is a file that may work. Go to the HP support site and search for sp45057.exe. It was written for Vista 64bit, but some have posted that it works for them in Win7 64bit , too. Check the HP site for your model first. If you don't have an HP product, go to your manufacturer's site and see if they have a Win7 64bit firewire update for your computer. --- If your computer or laptop has the JMicron firewire chipset, you can get the latest drivers here.
