Dvd Playback Issue

WYRookie

Question

I am attempting to convert a Sony Camcorder .mpg file to a playable DVD for a stand alone (TV) DVD player that is at least 10 years old using Easy DVD Copy 4. My computer recognizes and can playback the newly created DVD, but not the stand alone player. I selected the DVD as the output type. Can anyone help a novice?

First copy the DVD you've made to an ISO file if you can, so you don't have to keep re-making it each time you try a different way of burning it.

Your ancient DVD player might not like burned DVDs or anything else but DVD-ROMs.

If your burner is capable of modifying the booktype of a disc, use a DVD+R disc for the burn, and set the booktype to DVD-ROM. That way the ancient player will think the disc is a pressed DVD-ROM.
