VRTV
Hello, I installed a new hard drive on my laptop. Did a clean install of Vista; old hard drive was a Vista upgrade from XP. Accidentally installed EMC 9 from disk. Installed Creator 2009 SE from disk; works great. Problem is when I open any folder that has a video clip I get 3 pop-up windows: Link to screen capture on Flickr 1. Insert the Roxio Easy Media Creator 9 Suite disk and click OK 2. Please wait while Windows configures Sonic CinePlayer Decoder Pack 3. Sonic CinePlayer Decoder Pack cannot be found I don't want to mess with 2009; just get rid of the EMC9 issue. First I tried add/remove programs EMC9; won't work because missing certificate. Launched msconfig and I have gone to services tab and disabled all EMC9 apps; leaving EMC11 alone. I have gone to startup tab and disabled Roxio & Sonic apps I have gone to tools tab -> computer management -> services and apps -> services and turned off all references to EMC9. Restarted laptop twice. I went to control panel-> default programs and I checked for any file associations, program accesses, and autoplay for Roxio or Sonic. Launched regedit but am unsure which files to remove because I don't want to accidentally delete those needed for EMC11. Anyone have any good suggestions to fix? I could put the disk in when prompted, but I understood CinePlayer is for XP; not compatible with Vista and don't want to create another problem. As a last resort, is a clean removal of both EMC9 and EMC11 needed? If so, please post links to the appropriate forums -thanks in advance. cdanteek
As a last resort, is a clean removal of both EMC9 and EMC11 needed? That might be the best option... You can find links in my signature for a clean uninstall reinstall. Pay attention to the version numbers and operating system instructions. You mention " EMC9 and EMC11" there is no EMC 11 you stated Creator 2009 SE!
VRTV
That might be the best option... You can find links in my signature for a clean uninstall reinstall. Pay attention to the version numbers and operating system instructions. You mention " EMC9 and EMC11" there is no EMC 11 you stated Creator 2009 SE! Thank you for the links; I had followed yours before on other posts and they were very helpful for other issues. Sorry, didn't mean EMC 11; meant all files and folders ending with an 11. All the files and names are doubled up in the directory and either end with a 9 or 11. Yes, I have Creator 2009 SE. I was really hoping someone had a list of what was in their registry who only had Creator 2009 SE and not any other versions. Alas, If there is nothing posted in the next few days, I will do a clean install and hope for the best.

Hello,
I installed a new hard drive on my laptop.
Did a clean install of Vista; old hard drive was a Vista upgrade from XP.
Accidentally installed EMC 9 from disk.
Installed Creator 2009 SE from disk; works great.
Problem is when I open any folder that has a video clip I get 3 pop-up windows:
Link to screen capture on Flickr
1. Insert the Roxio Easy Media Creator 9 Suite disk and click OK
2. Please wait while Windows configures Sonic CinePlayer Decoder Pack
3. Sonic CinePlayer Decoder Pack cannot be found
I don't want to mess with 2009; just get rid of the EMC9 issue.
First I tried add/remove programs EMC9; won't work because missing certificate.
Launched msconfig and
I have gone to services tab and disabled all EMC9 apps; leaving EMC11 alone.
I have gone to startup tab and disabled Roxio & Sonic apps
I have gone to tools tab -> computer management -> services and apps -> services and turned off all references to EMC9.
