I am using roxio creator l0 and doing as it tells me to. Tools, erase disk, install disk and etc. It tells me to install and wont let me, I am running windows xp home edition and the player is a phillips dvd+rw dvd8881 on a dell computer 9200

Could you be a bit more specific in what you are doing? Describe exactly the steps that you are taking.

I go to tools and follow what they are telling me to do. Put in disk and hit the erase button. Then it proceeds to tell me to put disk in the player which I have already done then it kicks it out and tells me to put disk in player again then it kicks out and tells me to put in, etc

After you insert a disc you want to erase the program ejects it and tells you to insert another disc?

 

You are inserting rewritable media RW's , not R or CD-R write once media?

Does Roxio see your burner? Try the pxengine in the following link. Then reboot.

If it didn't it would display, no drive detected.

 

The fact that it asks for a disc, shows the drive is detected and should list that drive.

 

Yes, but stranger things have happened, with this software. He is trying to erase a RW disc, and it is spitting it out. It should happily erase the disc, unless the life of the disc has gone south.

Under Tools click on Disc Information and tell us what it says for Disc Type.
