Fixing Photo For Tv Safe Zone - Use Overlay In Roxio Creator V9?

bhartsy

Question

I have some group photos (approx sizes 3800x1800px) taken at a high school reunion and when I include them in my production, they look fine on the computer, but when viewing them via a TV/DVD player, the people on the outer edges of the group are cut off from view. I tried changing from standard to widescreen & back again, but that did not help.

Somewhere in a discussion I read that you can use an OVERLAY to resolve this problem, but I don't know how to do that, or if I can do that with Roxio Creator BasicV9

Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm in a pinch to get this resolved, so I can finalize my DVD and distribute to some classmates.

If it's not an option with V9, would you let me know? But if it can be done in V9 would you be so king to provide a step by step? I've searched through options within the app, but I see nothing related to doing this and no help topics.

Thanks!! :)

I'm not familiar with Creator Basic V9, but try reading through these links, where this topic was previously discussed in relation to the full version of Creator,

http://forums.suppor...e-tv-safe-zone/

(jeanrosenfeld's overlay method is in post 3#)

This method uses the slide show assistant (the use of which has been discouraged on these boards)

Maybe you will find something in these to help.

Actually I'm reading that Image Cropper is a useful tool...but I'm curious, does Roxio V11 have this feature, to crop/fit photos this way? If it's built into the product, I may just upgrade

Image Cropper is a separate program. There are other gurus more familiar with it; maybe one of them will comment.

Thanks I understand. I'm curious if Creator V11 has the ability to crop/fit photos so I can avoid the problem described above, where people are being cut out of view on a group photo

Thanks for your help, I truly appreciate it :)

nevermind, I'm downloading Creator V11 right now - looks like a great upgrade, nice features, so I'll give it a try. Hopefully it will do what I need it to do with regard to the group photo, if not I'll figure something out

Thanks again -
