Easy Vhs To Dvd Won't Open -

Ron60

Question

Just installed Creator 2010 Special edition.

When I attempt to open Easy VHS to DVD I see dialog boxes opening that are trying to set up a cinima player. The final dilog box is titled: CinimaNow Media Manager. It gives a massage that states; "The funtion you are trying ot use is on a CDRom or other removeable disk" Then it gives the opportunity to install a disk on a drive and find the file. The Disk with Roxio Creator on it does not contain the file and it's the only disk that came in the package.

Rough start for a new program??

Any ideas?

Thanks

This is the Forum for Creator 2011, not V2D; not 2010…

Don't really understand what you have?

The 2010 Special Edition comes with the Roxio Video Capture USB device.

Easy VHS to DVD also comes with the Roxio Video Capture USB device!

Since neither is a download version are you saying you have 2 of the Roxio Video Capture USB devices???

Thanks for answering - New to the forum - sorry for posting in the wrong place I can repost if it would help.

What I have is a package I purchased at a Costco. It is Roxio Creator 2011 Secial Edition. It came with a very abbreviated set of start up instructions and one Intallation DVD. It was supposed to have included everything needed for various applications includeing Easy VHS to DVD and did include the hardware (USB decoder, and some cables)

I updaded everything as prompted.

So when I attempt to open the Easy VHS to DVD program I get that series of dialog boxes with progress bars stating that it's attempting to load a cinima program - it asks for a disk that I don't have to continue installation. If I click cancil on the various boxes that pop up fast enough I can manage to wade my way to the program window and attempt to record from VHS to DVD. This was a total failure but that's an issue for another thread.

Hope this is clear enoug. I'm NOT a computer guru by any means!

What do you mean that you don't have the disc? How did you install the program?

The confusion comes from the fact that what you are calling "Easy VHS to DVD" application which does not exist in Creator 2011. If you have that on your computer then it is a left over from something else and may be causing your problem.

The name of the application in Creator 2011 is called "Plug and Burn" and is perhaps the closest to playing roulette that there is in this suite of applications. What you want to use is "Capture Video" to capture the video to your hard drive.

In the meantime, do this to your computer (link) and then put in that disc (you got to have it) and run a repair on the program.

So you have 2011 SE and that makes this the right place! :)

The Costco, retail only, version of 2011 SE is a great buy for anyone not requiring the BD stuff that comes with the Pro version.

As Steve pointed out, there is nothing called V2D in your box! That is a completely separate product, latest version looks like this:

Follow the instructions Steve provided – but I don't think the 'Repair' option exists in 2011…

Anyway give it a try as well as capture and let's see where we stand after that! ;)
