Blu-Ray Plug-In Installation Failure

Robbie Doo

Question

Just downloaded the Blu-ray Plug-in for 2011 Pro but unable to install. I get an error msg:

"Setup cannof find a valid version of this software to upgrade.

Please make sure you are using the correct upgrade version."

If this is a plug-in why would it ask me if I'm using an upgrade?

High-Def/Blu-ray Disc Plug-In for Roxio Creator™ 2011

Author high-def video on Blu-ray discs

The new plug-in for Roxio Creator 2011 lets you create Blu-ray video discs.

High-Def/Blu-ray Disc Plug-in is only compatible with Creator 2011 (included in Pro)

Because it's already there

You've possibly ordered the wrong plug-in (there are two)

The second one (which isn't included) is this:-

Blu-ray Playback Plug-In for Roxio Creator 2011

* Play Blu-ray discs, including Hollywood movies, on your PC

* Enjoy stunning HD video playback quality on your PC

* Experience next-gen interactive features

* Rich High-Def Home Theater Audio

* Optimized for both powerful and energy-efficient computers and workstations

Thank you for response. The file that I ordered was this:

RoxioHigh-DefBlu-rayDiscPlugin_J603CXD0FUL

When I went the products area to order the plug-in this was the only one.

On the product page it says that blu-ray plug in for 2011 Pro is required. That's the reason why I ordered it. I don't think it was included in my Pro version because I'm unable to watch any blu-ray discs on my pc. Oh well.

You have a 30 day return window if you purchased online. I'd recommend you contact sales and explain what happened (that you got the wrong plug-in)

The one you need is here

I returned the plug-in. However, I was wondering how do you watch blu-ray discs on your computer? The Cineplayer doesn't play blu-ray movies?!

You ordered the wrong plug-in, as Daithi pointed out…

You ordered the Authoring Plug-in, when in fact the Playback Plug-in is what you wanted.

I use the Playback Plug-in for CinePlayer and it works fine.

I have the Pro version of Creator, which already has the Authoring Plug-in included. So all I had to do was add the Playback Plug-in.
