Roxio Dvd Rom Emulator Drive G?

xspook

Question

My DVD drive won't burn the video, and I noticed there is a new drive G. It is a Roxio DVD Rom Emulator SCSI CD ROM devise. I don't have a SCSI device. My burning DVD is a Sony DVD RW Drive F external USB. I also have a DVD player drive D, and a CD RW drive E, hard drive C, and external USB hard drive H. Should I have the G drive or is this the problem I need to correct so I can burn a DVD? Thanks for any help.

Ignore that Roxio burn application. Use Create DVD to burn your video to a disc.

You can go to the Home page, tools and click so that the Burn application doesn't open when you put a disc in the drive. You can also go to msconfig, start up programs tab and uncheck that application. Reboot, acknowledge that you made a change and not to notify you again.

You can also try the free beta of Soluto to stop any other applications from starting also. As with any beta, make sure you have a restore point before you install it. I don't know anyone who had a problem with it. (Turn off your anti-virus for any software installation.

Please give us more information on what you are trying to do and what application you are using.

That drive G: is not a physical drive but only a software emulation of a DVD-ROM drive, it can only be used to play video not for burning. You must have installed this virtual drive at some point.

Please list the make/model of your physical CD/DVD drives.

As Steve has asked, please give some information on exactly what you are trying to do, what you are doing. Step-by-step with exact program names/options would help.

I have a Sony DVD-ROM DDU1615 D: drive, a TSST corp CD-RW TSH292B E: drive, and a Sony DVD RW DRX 830U F: drive. I am using Easy Media Creator 10 and have capture a video and have tried to burn a DVD from My DVD, and Video Copy and Convert. Both programs are part of Easy Media Creator 10 and both fail to burn the DVD.

Do you get any message when the burn fails? You have supplied very little info except it won't burn.

Only the Sony 830U can be used for burning and I believe that is the one you are using.

Where did the video come from? In what format is it? How long in time is it? Does it play with a software player like Windows Media Player or VLC? Does it play in the myDVD preview?
