Stuck Spanning Discs

I'm burning data on blu-ray discs as Mac Only that was suppose to span 11 discs. Toast burned 4 discs then I put in the 5th disc and walked away from the computer for a few hours. When I got back Toast was indicating that the 5th disc was finished and asking for the 6th disc. I put the 6th disc in the burner, but Toast did not continue burning and is only giving me the options to either "Eject" or "Cancel". Why is Toast continuing? Any suggestions?

You haven't lost those already-burned discs. They should mount. You then can use DiskCatalogMaker to create a directory of what's on those discs which also should give you a clue about what you can remove from the Toast data window when you start over.

 

While you're at it use the feedback link in Toast Help to let Roxio know they need to find a way to prevent external drives from going to sleep while waiting for a new disc.

If it is giving only the Eject/Cancel option then it isn't recognizing that the disc is burnable. I presume you've tried ejecting and reinserting the blank disc. I'm wondering if Toast lost communication with the drive because the drive went to sleep during the wait.

Yes, I've re-inserted the disc several times and nothing changes. You must be right about it losing communication with the burner. And I guess I've lost 5 blu-ray discs!
