H-man
I am trying to convert a video file to a .dv file for iMovie. The original file is 4:3 but no matter what setting I use the .dv file is stretched. How do I maintain that 4:3 ratio without stretching the final video once converted? Thanks
theoldarchiver
1/ Check the exported DV file in QuickTime Player, before bringing it into iMovie. Is it 4:3 or 16:9? 2/ Before importing into iMovie, start a new 4:3 project, then import the DV clip. It should now conform to the project setting. 3/ Sometimes it helps correcting a missing or corrupted aspect ratio flag in DV files, by opening the clip in MPEG Streamclip and saving out as DV again under a slightly different name. H-man
Thanks. No matter what box I select in options menu the DV file when played in Quicktime is 4:3. It doesn't change once imported. I ended up just going to another program for the conversion. Thanks, again.
