Splitting Audio Files

Wolfman613

Question

I have a large MP3 audio file of a scientific conference on my hard drive. I want to split it into several small (two-minute) files that I can burn as tracks on a CD, then listen to particular tracks as desired. I want gapless burning, i.e. eliminate the usual two-second gap between tracks. Can I do that with Roxio Creator 2011 Standard and, if so, how?

1) Use Sound Editor (Edit Audio) to split the audio. Go to tools and then select track detection. Select the first option of putting a tack every 2 minutes.

2) Export the "tracks" as wav files to a folder on your computer.

3) Burn the tracks to disc using "Create Audio CD". Make sure that the pre-gap is set to zero. It should be for all but the first track which will be 2 seconds. If you do want to have a space, then double click on the item and set the pre-gap where you want it. You cannot change the first pre-gap; it is in the standard.

Is there a way to set the pre-gap to zero with one click for all the tracks; there will be about 30 of them.

I already said that the pre-gap will be zero except for the first 2 minute segment. I just suggested that you double check. Did you try?
