Easy Vhs To Dvd And Creator 2010 Pro

farningham

Question

Hi, I am happy using Creator 2010 Pro and now wish to transfer my Hi8 tapes to dvd. I will need to edit them. From my reading of the forums it appears that I do not need to install the Roxio Easy VHS to DVD software, but just use the Roxio capture device. Am I correct? As yet I have made no purchases and have only seen the USB capture device packaged with the software. Perhaps you cannot buy it separately? If I upgraded to Creator 2011 Pro in the future would the Easy VHS to DVD software, if loaded, be compatible? There is the consideration to upgrade now to C2011 and purchase the Roxio Video Capture USB package at the same time. This may be an advised option, but as I am clearly unsure of how C2010 and Easy VHS to DVD work together, I thought it a good idea to learn more from the forum support guru's. My thanks, Farningham uk

Does your Hi8 video camera have a firewire output, port on it? If so, you will want to connect that video camera, to your computer, with a firewire cable, not USB.

If your video camera does not have a firewire output port, cdanteek has you covered in his post.

Hi Cdanteek & Grandpabruce, thank you for your help in answering my question so promptly. I will purchase the package and start the enjoyable task of producing dvd's from Hi8 and vhs tapes. These Roxio forums, that you guys support, contain a wealth of information.

Many thanks, Farningham, uk Ps my Hi8 camera does not have a firewire output port.
