Emc 8 And Windows 7

oyo

Question

I'm unable to install my EMC 8 to my new computer which has Windows 7. Support just asks me to upgrade at a cost of $69. I might as well buy a new one. Is it time for me to trash it. The only reason why I want to use it is because my new Bose Wave Radio can't play my CD burned from my new computer in WMD? not MP3? It plays my old CD made from my EMC 8

I don't know if you need to trash it, but you do need to get a version that works with Win 7. Creator 2010 and Creator 2011 work with Win 7.

I would recommend Creator 2011.

Make a Audio CD with the new computer instead of a WMD? not MP3? disc...

I am new so give me a break here. Is there anything I can do to use my EMC 8 on my Windows 7? Do I have to buy the 2010? Do they give a discount as like upgrading rather than full price?

EMC 8 does not work with W7. Only C2010 or C2011 are compatible with W7. Check with Roxio Customer Service regarding upgrade prices and discounts.

Thank you. I just wanted to be sure. Darn. I have Photosuite 7 and EMC 8 and now they are no good. I lost so many nice applications with switching to Windows 7. I checked and Roxio wants $69 for an upgrade of EMC 8 to 10. I am going to have to think about that one a little. Thanks again. Rog

I trust you mean Creator 2011 and NOT EMC 10 (totally different things)

EMC 10 will NOT work in Windows 7 (nor will Creator 2009).

Creator 2010 was the first W7 compatible suite - the current version is Creator 2011 (which is the one relevant to an 'upgrade' price)

There is no such upgrade/discounted price. If you owned a previous version then you can get Creator 2011 at a discount. There is a lot of confusion when you use the number 10 since there was a Easy Media Creator 10 and there are some OEM software (cut down version) that is labeled Creator 10.X with a two letter identifier. For example Creator 10.3 DE is s Dell version that is compatible with W7. See this. I don't think you can still get Creator 2010 from Roxio and they would not have recommended that.

There are other programs out there that do nothing but audio if that is the only thing that you use Easy Media Creator/Creator for. Here is the Roxio one. Creator 2011 is a better deal. The Pro has a very good program for cleaning audio - Sound Soap but the price of the Pro is more. Where are you getting your music? Did your new computer come with new audio editing software?
