How To Capture Longer Video Clips From Home Dvd

LibbyParsons

Question

I'm hoping someone can help me. I am new to video editing and have installed a roxio creator 2011 and have had success using video wave to edit short clips for a montage. My problem is that I can't seem to get a clip to last longer than 1 minute. I am trying to create an audition dance video for my son. We've been able to copy dvds and can watch them, but when we try and enter a file into videowave the clip will not last longer than 1 minute. Naturally, some of the dance clips last up to 10 minutes.

I'd greatly appreciate it if anyone can help me with this problem.

Thanks,

Libby

A little more detail would be nice…

The source are DVD’s? From WHERE?

How are you adding them to VW?

I'm adding them with roxio creator pro 2011. I click on the "copy and convert video", insert the disk that is to be copied into the optical drive, watch the preview (which stops after one minute), and press go. I'm guessing that the preview is the only thing being copied; do you think there is a way to avoid this problem??

In you initial post you asked "we try and enter a file into videowave the clip will not last longer than 1 minute"

Jim_Hardin (in post#2) asked you three questions.

You answered his questions with another question about "copy & convert".......Duh.
