Dvd Burnt In Toast 10.08 On A Macbook Pro Won't Play Back On A Powerbook

BlazingSpace

Question

Hi,

I use two 17" Apple Laptops at work, one is a 17" 2010 Macbook Pro the other is a 17" Powerbook G4 1.5Ghz both are running Toast 10.08 is there any reason DVD's burnt on the Macbook Pro won't play back on the Powerbook G4?

Here is what I know-

1. It's not effected by the type of media I use I have tried Sony, TDK, Verbatim, Unbranded, and PMD media and I get the same result, the Power Book G4 trys to read the DVD and chugs away for a while then spits it out with no error warning what so ever.

2. I am burning flash movies .flv files as data with Mac & PC mode.

3. The DVD's burn and verify completely OK on the 2010 Mac Book.

4. The Power Book G4 DVD drive functions fine and will play movie DVD's and burn DVD's in PC & MAC mode and read them back fine.

So what is going on here? Can anyone suggest any fixes to this?

Media brand is irrelevant - at this point, they're all making the same thing (I usually just buy store brand). Try burning the video as a DVD Video?
