Why Can't I Burn More Than 8.5 Gb To An Iso Or Hard Disk Folder

ne1scott

Question

Why does it care if my project is larger than 8.5GB if I am burning to an ISO or a hard disk folder ? I had to remove stuff to get it to burn an ISO that is now 5.37GB for a DL disc.

It;s bad enough that the software estimates are bad, but then when it won't even allow me to create the project as an ISO or hard disk folder when it's too big is just plain stupid. I was going to reprocess the video with another product to reduce it's size down to a single layer DVD.

As it is I had to remove content and now I have almost 30% of my DL DVD blank. VERY ANNOYING.

Roxiom if you could at least provide us a way (registry tweak or whatever) to allow us to burn projects the software thinks are too large then we could bypass these problems and be HAPPY consumers.

Roxio MyDVD 10

Roxio Creator 10 Business DVD (Build 113849E ENU) on Windows 7 64 Bit 2.66QC w/8GB

Ever hear the expression "You can't pour a quart into a pint pot"

A DVD cannot hold more than 8.5 GB and to attempt to write a .iso file with more simply won't work

You have to build up the stream in videowave (I presume you're using AV and not data), export that to MyDVD and that will resize it

Other software does not allow it either. I just tried Corel and PowerDVD.
