Mydvd Burning Issue

Rosey

Question

Hi, can somebody help me?

How do I burn a DVD, so it shows in the entire window?

I transfered some video clips from my video camera to my PC. I wanted to put them on a DVD to create a movie. I transfered them to Roxio's Edit Video to edit them. I was then sent to MyDVD to burn. As it was burning I could see the scenes in a small square in the middle of the MyDVD window. It took a very long time to burn, and then when I went to play it, the movie shows in the same small square as the one that showed while it was burning. I tried different movies players in my computer, and my TV, and it still shows the same.

I have Roxio Creator 2010 and use Windows XP.

Thanks,

Rosey

That's a new one on me !

Download gspot codec information applicance (free program). Drag one of your video files from your hard drive to the gspot window. Post a screen shot of what you get.

What camcorder do you have? Can you post a couple of seconds of the video on a free file sharing site?

I use Sony DCR - SR68

I never had this problem when I was using the Creator Version that came before this 2010 one.

Did you record to the hard drive or to a memory stick? Did you just copy the videos to your computer or did you try to capture?

What about the gspot codec checker screen shot?

Hi Skins,

I first recorded the clips to the hard drive. Then I edited them in "Roxio Edit Video". Then I clicked to send to MyDVD to burn.

I no longer have the video in question because since it didn't come out right, I deleted it from my files, and disposed of the DVD I made. Therefore, I am not able to do the gspot screenshot you request.

However, I am attaching a screenshot of the "MyDVD" menu style I used to burn. My movie showed exactly as it looks in the window. It showed only in the small square in the middle, with blue all around it.

This was the first time I tried to burn a disc with this software, so I am not very familiar with it. I noticed that, that paricular menu style I used is one of several options, and if I click on "change menu style", there are others to use. I wonder if I should use a different menu style when I burn.

Also, I burned while I had the "menus" side highlighted, would it make a difference if I highlight "movies" instead?

Thanks so much,

Edie

Everything worked correctly. When you add the movie using that particular menu, you will always have that small window show a short clip of the movie. The short clip in that window loops after 20 or more seconds. That is the standard behavious. To start viewing the actual movie you would click on the movie name that would be under that small window.

Myguggi,

you are awsome. I dug out my DVD from the garbage and tried it again. I clicked on the title and didn't worked, then I clicked on "Production", and it worked. It works both in my computer and on my DVD player.

I was ready to uninstall this software, and reinstall the one I had before this one because that one never gave me much trouble.

Thanks so much!
