Will Only Capture 3 Video Clips

1813mgs

Question

I'm trying to capture some video clips from youtube in Movies/Videos - Copy and Convert. I'm following the directions. Sometimes the Web Video doesn't capture anything, sometimes it captures at most, 3 clips (usually 5 to 6 minute clips)

Sometimes it only captures part of the clip. I've tried everything I can find in the knowledgebase and on here. I've done the complete uninstall and re-install so many times...and on the occasions that it does capture a clip, that clips(s) stays in the Web Video window until I shut down the computer. There's one still in there right now from about 2 days ago.

I'm using Windows 7 on an HP computer, very large capacity and fast. I'm about ready to call it quits with Creator 10, can anybody help?

Thanks

Thanks again for your time.

I forgot to mention it before, but I do use Firefox, the latest 3.6 version.

Would you be able to recommend another registry cleaner that won't interfere with

Roxio? I use Registry Mechanic regularly, it seems to do a good job.

Here are some links to the videos that I wish to copy. This gentleman has 48 videos

on you tube and I've been able to copy 4 of them so far.

Hi!

Second link should be:www.youtube.com/watch?v=mDPgfhEge2c&NR=related

I have not been able to download anything with Roxio. I use this: http://keep-tube.com/

On the basis of a picture = 1,000 words

Thanks again gi7omy. Sometimes I definitely need pictures to figure some of this stuff!

I tried 2 different add-ons/plug-ins on Firefox plus the "Keep Tube". None of them look like the

one you illustrate here - but all 3 of those that I tried seem work OK.

So I guess it's Roxio PLUS ???.. in order to be able to do the whole job of downloading the videos AND

creating the DVD? That's OK!

Anyway

Thanks again for all your help.

I would doubt it - 1-click integrates into Firefox and you just need to click on one of the three file format options when you're on the youtube page

You're correct it isn't the same thing. I added it to my Firefox, but haven't found it yet!

I'm sure I'll find it soon..

Thanks again

Mike

Try using Firefox browser with the 1-click youtube video downloader plugin.

This will capture the clips in either .flv or .mp4 format (you can choose which)

It's a free add-on for Firefox

Hi gi7omy,

I'm wondering if that 1-click youtube video downloader plug-in is the same thing as "keep-tube"?

Anyway thanks for your help,

Mike

If myDVD accepts the converted video then that is all you need. All video on a DVD is mpeg2 format and myDVD encodes to the proper format automatically.

BTW, I had no problems downloading the myTube video except for the 2nd one which does not link to youTube at all

Like Steve, I never use a registry cleaner, they are more trouble then they are worth.A the least I would never allow it to run in the background.

Hi my guggi,

Thanks for your advice. I'll try putting the videos that I was able to capture into myDVD and see what happens.

Thanks again,

Mike

Thanks again for your time.

I found one program that downloads everything with no problem

and converts the format - now I have to figure out which is the

correct format for my player! 9 useless DVDs later...

Thanks again

You don't need a registry cleaner - period.

I tried 3 different browsers - IE, FF and Safari- and I could download only the third link. The others were not recognized. I have no idea why. You might try cnet downloads to see if one of the free downloads works better or has the same issues.

Thanks for your reply sknis.

Sorry about not using the correct product name.

I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium Edition. The processor is an AMD Phenom II X4 945 3.00GHz

with 8.00 GB of installed memory. It's a 64 bit system.

I do have anti-virus and firewall installed as well as Registry Mechanic running in the background.

The videos that I am trying to download are not copy protected. I have tried

using the program at all times of the day and night, with the same results.

Perhaps I'm expecting too much?

Anyway thanks again for your time,

Mike

Post some links to the videos you are having issues with and more than one of us will try to see if we get the same results.

Did you try FireFox?

Get rid of Registry Mechanic. It will eventually delete some Roxio required entries and you will not be able to open any Roxio or Sonic programs.

That is Creator 2010; do not shorten the name or you post might be moved to a different forum. Also very fast doesn't mean anything; it doesn't take much longer to post something like "CPU" I-7 @2.9.

What else do you have running when you are trying to download - e-mail, anti-virus scanning everything that is written to your hard drive?

What browser are you using? Many people have better luck with Fire Fox.

Remember that some videos are protected and cannot be downloaded. You are also at the mercy of the YouTube servers; you may not see a hesitation when viewing a video but your computer will pick up the stop and start of the stream. Combine that with any hiccups on your Internet connection and you can image how iffy the proper download results are.

Have you tried downloading a video that you are having an issue with early morning or late night?

The captured clips are in a temp file folder; you have to get rid of those temporary files for it to go away.
