MyDVD – Change Project Type To…

Ok--ive just spent last 45 minutes and cant figure it out.I opend project in VW and sent it to MyDvd,when i try to change project to --the only option is AVCHD. DVD is grayed out. Then i figure maybe it needs a differnt file,so i closed MyDvd and opend a new project by adding the VW file and tried to change to DVD--same result. Then i figure lets save this as a new MyDVD project, and once again I was foiled--could only burn as AVCHD. So hate to ask, but could you give me a blow by blow on how to change a project from an AVCHD burn to a Dvd burn.I did it once several months ago with advice from you guys, but for some reason my post history isnt showing up so cant find the previous answer in a search mode--thanks

Thanks---when i just go into MyDVD i get the screen that asks you if this is a new or old project. When i click old project, then i cant find the file, im guessing since its a VW file.So i go back to VW,send to MyDvd and click cave as to make it a MyDVD file. Then i start over, and click existing file, find the file, and open it.Then go to change format, and the DVD choice doesnt come up ,just HD,which has me stumped--does that mean when i open the MyDVD screen and pick DVD it has already chosen DVD so I dont have to change it.Guess Ill just burn that and see what happens. But I am curius aout the opening screen---bob

You are creating a new myDVD project so obviously you should be selecting New and then the project type. It is only now that you click Add Movie and navigate to the VW project file to add it.

When you select "Old project" file, myDVD looks for an exiting myDVD project file not the VW project file. All options that are under the File option refer to myDVD projects

Ok Im now understanding everything, thanks Jim and myguggi. The key for me was telling me to click add video when i sent the project to MyDVD. I wasnt doing that in the right order.Just did a few test runs and heres what i did, open VW and creat video--save the file--send to my dvd--select new project and AVCD in my case---click add video--find the new video i just made in VW--click burn. After the burn, i go back to edit menu, click on change project to tab, select DVD and burn--simple once you get enough help--thanks again. BTW I also made test run of an mpg file and an MTS (AVCD) file in one project--it encodes great and i was able to make both a DVD and HD file--still dont why it didnt encode the 1st time, but the old trick of making it into an mpg file, then putting it into VW worked again--thanks for all the help--bob
