After disabling web cam I click record and get a live cam avatar window. If I click preview I see the aptured video in the web cam window but Easy VCr to DVD only records the avatar picture with the web cam audio.

Go to the MY COMPUTER icon and RIGHT CLICK go to PROPERTIES and the go to the HARDWARE TAB then click on DEVICE MANAGER find the camera from the list and disable it, you can turn it back on the same way.

My earlier post began with AFTER DISABLING CAMERA. This is the result after I disabled the camera in device manager. It seems that Roxio VCR to DVD software does not work with Creative Web camera and avatar software that is installed no my system.

I had the same web cam issue and disabled the web camera. Now I get a live cam avatar window when I try to record. I see the video in the preview window but program only records the avatar picture.

Don’t have this, never even seen it but from all the chatter on the web you will have to disable the video in Live Cam Avatar under Tools or Turn off MSN Messenger.

Give it a try and report back with your results.

I uninstalled the Creative Live cam software. Then uninstalled and re-installed VHS to DVD. Result was no video even though all the drivers were loaded correctly. (No bangs and they appear when capture device plugged in and disappear when it is removed.

I don't know how to disable MSN messenger and can't find documentation on it.

I have the following funcitonal scenarios.

With creative live cam installed and the monitor camera enabled I get the monitor video as the video in VHS to DVD.

With creative live cam installed and the monitor camera disabled I get the avatar scenario I described above.

With The avatar software uninstalled I get no video even though drivers are loaded.

No idea where to look next.
