Up to date. Video drivers up to date. So:- I uninstalled creator 2010. I checked Windows Update and updated Windows Vista Ultimate SP2 I restarted my PC Then:- Directx 9 installs fine I then get an error message 007F - cannot find Smartsound From the log: 12/06/10 11:54:49 - Action InstallActions.SMARTSOUND_50.Install has no product code, no reference counting will be done. 12/06/10 11:54:49 - Updating install progress: 4 / 22, Installing SmartSound 12/06/10 11:54:49 - Executing setup action: InstallActions.SMARTSOUND_50.Install 12/06/10 11:54:54 - CreateShellProcess failed with error code 127 12/06/10 11:54:54 - Action InstallActions.SMARTSOUND_50.Install return code: 127 12/06/10 11:54:54 - Caught error 127 exception while running install actions 12/06/10 11:54:54 - Updating install progress: 4 / 22, Setup encountered an error during installation. Error Code: 007F 12/06/10 11:54:54 - Updating rollback progress: 4 / 22, Setup encountered an error during installation. Error Code: 007F 12/06/10 11:54:54 - Updating rollback progress: 4 / 22, Setup encountered an error during installation. If it happens to you:- 1 use msconfig (in the run box, enter msconfig) , 2 in msconfig, go to services, disable all services except microsoft ones, 3 restart, 4 install Roxio, 5 then use msconfig and re-enable all services Worked for me...
