BOT3 Suite would do a Saved State that I'm pretty sure was basically the same thing as Windows Restore.

When you installed BOT3 it would give you a boot option to restore a Saved State.

I know that I've been through this before with someone else.Just need to look back through the posts in this Forum and should be able to find it.

I can't remember right off the top what the answer was or if I found one.

Thanks for that Tbrewst, I forgot to explain my BOT 3 came pre installed with XP on HP notebook. I think the XP system restore version uses temp files ? also if you go blundering around trying to clean out anything disc cleaner or similar says, like I did once, you can wipe your restore points :o . I also wanted to avoid this as well as not scanning them. In your link you say they are .rbc files. I did a search for this type of file and folders with and without my computer name as you suggest but found nothing. I know my anti virus scanner gos through them and takes ages as they are big files, I may have to try to pay attention and see what folders are actually being scanned when the anti virus reaches that point.

Could you please tell me which folders on C/ the saved states are in. I always do virus and malware check before saving, and now I want to cut my scan times down by not re-scanning these large files again.

In my HP Compaq Mini 110C they are hidden system files.

You need to go and enable "visualize hidden files" and also deselect "Hide system files".

Then I nfounmd them under C:System Rollback Data\Restore\Archive\<Some progressive number which depend on the current saved state>
