Converting And Burning Multiple Avi's To Dvd.

Question

Hi Guys,

I'm new so please bear with me.

Before I got my Mac, I used to convert my .avi files using ConvertXtoDVD, and burn them to a disc. I didn't know any other way would work so I thought best to be safe.

The things I want to know are..

  • Do I have to convert my files from .avi to VIDEO_TS before burning them, or can they be another format and still work on my DVD player/PS3?
  • If I have to convert them to VIDEO_TS, how can I use toast to put multiple .avi files onto a DVD? Kinda like if I was burning episodes.

Thanks for any help!

First, install the perian codec available from perian.org.

If you want them playable on nearly any DVD player choose DVD video as the format in the Video window and Toast will do all the work necessary to make the video DVD from the avi videos. If your DVD Player can play DivX discs and those avi files conform with DivX standards (it's possible that they do) then use the Data window to burn them as a data disc.
